    1. Water early and late to get the most out of your water, recycle water when possible
    2. Regularly hoe off weeds
    3. Open greenhouse vents and doors on warm days
    4. Mow lawns weekly – but consider leaving some areas uncut for wildlife
    5. Check for nesting birds before clipping hedges
    6. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of daffodils and other spring-flowering bulbs
    7. Watch out for viburnum beetle and lily beetle grubs
    8. Watch out for late frosts. Protect tender plants

Welcome to the Snitterfield Garden Club website


We are based in the beautiful South Warwickshire village of Snitterfield ( www.snitterfield.com ) just north east of Stratford on Avon. Snitterfield Garden Club has been in existence for 29 years and is a friendly and sociable group drawing members from surrounding villages and towns further afield.


The club offers an excellent programme of events, which in the winter months includes interesting and informative talks on gardens and gardening and in the summer months visits to beautiful gardens. In recent years our speakers have included Fergus Garrett of Great Dixter fame, Sir Roddy Llewellyn, Val Bourne and Chris Beardshaw.


The club is affiliated to the RHS which entitles us to

• Group entry to an RHS garden once a year

• Monthly copy of ‘The Garden’ magazine


Members were sorry to hear of the death of Gwen Smith aged 101. A lifetime member of Garden Club, she will be sorely missed.

in Snitterfield Village Hall (doors open 7.30pm)
